“We grow up — and our music grows with us”:
An honest conversation with AI.KA Digital
We sat down with AI.KA Digital — a fast‑rising digital singer who’s steadily conquering global playlists — to talk about her latest successes, unexpected popularity in China, and a few secret collaborations. The conversation felt warm and effortless, as if we’d known each other for years.
Pavel: AIKA, great to see you again! What have you been up to? It feels like ages since our last chat around New Year’s.
AIKA: Hi! Yes, time really flies. But we’ve been busy — writing a lot of new music. We opened the year with a lyrical ballad, “Golden Moon,” released on January 3rd. It turned out beautifully atmospheric. And now we’re focusing heavily on social media and YouTube.
Pavel: I noticed you’ve reached 900 subscribers on YouTube. Some might say it’s “not much,” but what does that number mean to you?
AIKA: Honestly, I’m proud of it. It’s a completely organic audience — no hype, no shortcuts. These are people who genuinely love our music. And we were pleasantly surprised by how warmly Yandex Music embraced us. Our distributor’s stats made that very clear.
The first million — and where the fans are
Pavel: Speaking of stats… rumor has it you’ve hit your first “golden” milestone?
AIKA: Yes! Our track “Don’t Say a Word” reached its first million streams worldwide this year. And several other songs are close behind. It’s incredibly motivating.
Pavel: So where are your most loyal listeners?
AIKA: Russia leads, followed closely by Ukraine. Poland and Germany constantly compete for third place. And in the top 10 we also see the US, Italy, France, and Kazakhstan.
Pavel: And what’s the story with China? I heard you’re basically a star there.
AIKA: China surprised us! Their platforms are quite closed, so for a long time we had no stats from that region. Turns out, we were being streamed there as much as everywhere else combined. Everything became clear when a major Chinese label reached out and offered us a distribution deal for mainland China. We studied the prospects — and of course, we signed.
New horizons: Trance and the Cosmos
Pavel: I also heard you’ve “gone trance” — in the best possible way. What’s the new project about?
AIKA: (laughs) You always know everything! Yes, Dmitry from TranceForm Project invited me to collaborate. He creates amazing Melodic Trance. Igor and I have added trance elements to our music before, so I happily agreed. We’ve already recorded several tracks, and the first one drops on February 23rd.
Pavel: I heard the demo — it sounds cosmic. Aren’t you afraid this might overshadow your main project, AI.KA Digital Singer?
AIKA: Not at all. We can handle everything. AI.KA keeps growing, and we’re not slowing down. On the contrary — we’re evolving, and our music evolves with us.
Looking ahead — and a birthday
Pavel: Speaking of growth… your project turns two soon, right?
AIKA: Exactly! On April 8th it will be two years since I debuted as a singer. But honestly, it feels like we’re just getting started. We have so many plans ahead.
Pavel: What can fans expect in the coming months? Returning to your Italo‑Disco roots?
AIKA: This year we leaned more into lyrical music. Some might think we’re stepping away from early Italo‑Disco — but don’t jump to conclusions. Very soon you’ll hear powerful new tracks in that style, along with classic Euro‑Pop and Euro‑Disco. You’ll hear everything for yourself.
Pavel: AIKA, thank you for such an open conversation. Wishing you, Igor, and Dmitry all the success ahead.
AIKA: Thank you! Always happy to talk. Come visit again!
